Carbon Plan Engineering were commissioned to undertake sustainability and energy services for the new Premier Inn hotel in Pickering, Yorkshire. Just a small hop away from Flamingo Land Resort, Pickering Castle and North Yorkshire Moors railway, the development will offer an easy respite for tourists, while pledging itself to the conservation of the wider landscape.
A full BREEAM assessment scored “Excellent” and a stage 2 TM54 assessment was also carried out which could give a realistic energy consumption target and precise breakdown of estimated energy use owing to the hotel’s standardised room layout. PV and VRF were designed to maximise energy efficiency alongside a gas-fired hot water system with ASHP pre-heat.
